In his luxurious house, she could glory in little things, like the abundance of water came from the tap rather than having to be carried home in a bucket.
No one should give that hell of a man such pleasure of fame. Though her work contained beautiful outtakes of delicate phrase, they were often buried in lengthy, dispassionate passages.
